Katherine McGinn, CFA

ESG Consultant

Throughout her career, Katie has specialized in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Investing.  Her aim is to not only help clients achieve financial and life goals, but also social and environmental ones through generating positive social and environmental impact.  Katie currently consults in the ESG Investing space and volunteers in her local community.

Previously, at Pell Wealth Partners, Katie led the effort to develop, implement, and monitor a suite of proprietary ESG investment portfolios. She partnered with individuals, families, endowments, and foundations to create and implement long-term financial plans, including reallocation of their assets into the ESG portfolios. While in this role, Katie was ranked as one of Forbes America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors (2018) and recognized by the Business Council of Westchester, NY as one of their 40 under 40 Rising Stars (2016).

Prior to joining Pell Wealth Partners, Katie consulted to a range of pension, endowment, and foundation clients as a Responsible Investment specialist with Mercer Investment Consulting. Her team developed a proprietary ESG ratings methodology, trained Manager Researchers, and oversaw implementation to a pool of over 5,000 strategies across global asset classes. Katie developed customized ESG investment strategies, implementation plans, and educational materials for US investors across asset classes.

In the earliest days of her career, Katie worked for Calvert Group and New Amsterdam Partners (one of Calvert’s sub-advisors), where she researched ESG issues and helped inform company procedures relating to ESG Investing.

For 8 years Katie served as a guest lecturer for Columbia University’s Master of Science in Sustainability Management program. She has also lectured for Bard College’s Economics Program. For 10 years she acted as the Book Review Editor for the Journal of Environmental Investing (JEI) and served on the JEI Scholarship Program’s Board of Directors.

Katie received a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Economics from Bard College. Katie is a member of the CFA Institute and a CFA charterholder.
