Fielding is the founding partner who has led CAPTRUST, a Raleigh-based firm, from an entrepreneurial start up into one of the nation’s largest independent financial advisory firms. Working with institutional and private clients since 1986, CAPTRUST has more than 1,000 colleagues in 69 locations throughout the U.S. and currently advises on more than $700 billion of client assets. Fielding remains active in all aspects of the business and chairs the Board of Directors and the Operating Committee.

Fielding is well known as a pioneer in the financial services industry and has been recognized for his innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership on multiple occasions.

Being an entrepreneur himself, Fielding has great enthusiasm for supporting causes that focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. Fielding and his wife Kim are the benefactors of The Miller School of Entrepreneurship at their alma mater, East Carolina University. He is the Vice Chairman of East Carolina Board of Trustees and also a member of the board of directors for Dogwood State Bank and FMI Corporation.
