The Verger Capital Management (Verger) Board of Managers is pleased to announce the appointment of John Culbertson as a member of the Board. His appointment expands the Verger Board to nine members. Culbertson currently serves as President and Chief Investment Officer of Context Capital Partners.

In his role at Context Capital Partners, Culbertson is responsible for the firm’s strategic development and manages Context’s wide range of partnerships with asset managers. His career in the industry has spanned more than 30 years with extensive experience in quantitative trading, venture capital, asset allocation, and hedge fund seeding. Prior to his current position, Culbertson was Chief Investment Officer for a family office and founded Gamma Investors, a venture capital fund that invested primarily in financial services technology companies.  He spent the first 12 years of his career at Cooper Neff and Associates, a pioneer in quantitative trading.  As a partner at Cooper Neff, Culbertson founded the London office and ran various businesses until it was sold to BNP Paribas.

“We are fortunate to add John’s talents both as a tenured and respected investment professional and entrepreneur to Verger’s Board of Managers,” said Jim Dunn, Chief Executive and Investment Officer. “As Verger continues to grow, we look forward to the strategic guidance and governance John will provide in his role on the Board.”

Culbertson received his undergraduate degree in Business and Economics from Rutgers University and earned a Master of Liberal Arts studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

“I am very pleased to join the Verger Board of Managers. I look forward to working with Jim and his very talented team as they continue to serve their current clients and expand the business,” said John Culbertson.
