Both are hearing “hey, wanna trade?”  Traditionally, internal trading has not been an issue for larger endowments, but what about the so-called, little guys?  Jim Dunn sat down with Pensions & Investments to talk overlay managers, their role in external trading, and how smaller players may be finding ways to capture some of their own alpha.

 

WHEN YOUR FRIEND ALREADY STARTS BRAGGING ABOUT THEIR TEAM’S 2017 COLLEGE FOOTBALL RANKING

Oh yeah, what about their endowment?  The 2016 NACUBO-Commonfund Study of Endowments was released today, January 31st. The study’s results seem to show low returns for most colleges and universities.  According to the study,  the average endowment returned -1.9% for the 2016 fiscal year, with only a handful of institutions reporting a positive return for the same time period.
